We appreciate the community’s support of Measure S and thank all of the residents who participated in our local engagement survey as well as the election. Measure S Voter Information

On July 13th Solana Beach City Council placed Measure S – the Solana Beach Streets, Parks, Beaches and Services Measure – on the November Municipal Election ballot for voter consideration.

Measure S is a proposed local one-cent sales tax (one penny per dollar) which if enacted, would address priorities identified by City residents in a community survey conducted earlier this year, such as maintaining local streets and repairing potholes, storm drains, and other infrastructure, keeping trash and pollution out of local waterways and off our beaches and keeping neighborhoods, parks, and other public areas safe and clean.

If enacted, Measure S would also provide additional funding for local public safety which includes fire protection, paramedic services, response to 911 emergencies, and our Sheriff to address traffic safety, property related theft, homeless response and more.

Currently, 87% percentage of the sales tax generated in Solana Beach goes to the State, County or SANDAG. If enacted, Measure S would provide the City of Solana Beach with additional local funding to allow the City local control of those funds for City services.

As you may know, the City’s roads and storm drains are also in need of ongoing repairs and maintenance. If enacted, Measure S would provide the funding needed to keep up with basic repairs and maintenance to streets, sidewalks, storm drains and public facilities and maintain City infrastructure.
