Solana Beach Cares - Seasonal Donation Drives
The City of Solana Beach is proud to introduce Solana Beach Cares, a new community-driven program designed to support local residents and families through Seasonal Kindness Drives. As part of the broader City of Kindness Initiative, the program offers a meaningful way for the community to come together, season after season, by donating essential items for those in need. Each seasonal drive will focus on a specific area of support relevant to that time, giving residents a simple and easy way to give back. Every donation, big or small, will go directly to a neighbor who could use a little extra care and support.
Solana Beach Cares is a year-round program rooted in kindness and powered by the community. It is more than just a donation effort, it’s a citywide invitation to show up for one another and help foster a culture of kindness. We invite you to join this ongoing effort as we continue to build a kinder, more connected Solana Beach.
Fall Donation Drive – Senior Holiday Gift Baskets
This season, we’re partnering with Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC) to assemble and deliver Holiday Gift Baskets to Solana Beach “solo-agers” - seniors who may be spending the holidays alone due to the loss of a spouse or having family who live far away. The holiday season can be especially tough for older adults living alone, and this effort helps brighten their spirits and remind them they are cared for and supported by our community.

What to Donate
We’re collecting cheerful, practical items to brighten the holidays for seniors in our community and remind them they are not alone. Consider donating cozy, useful, and uplifting gifts such as: 2026 calendars, crossword or Sudoku puzzle books, hot chocolate packets, holiday mugs, nightlights, jar openers, travel tissues, lip balm, lotion, dish towels, eyeglass cleaner, warm non-slip socks, pens, Post-it notes, and small holiday treats like chocolates or mints, or any small comfort item you would enjoy receiving yourself.
The final day to donate is Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
If you’d like SBCC to shop on your behalf, you may donate by check. Please make checks payable to Solana Beach Community Connections, write “Holiday Baskets” in the memo line, and mail to:

Help Us Identify Seniors in Need
Another meaningful way to support this effort is by helping us identify Solana Beach seniors who may be living alone and would appreciate a visit and a Holiday Basket. If you know a mature adult in our community who could benefit from a warm gesture and connection this season, please share their name and contact information with SBCC at info@solanabeachcc.org.

Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Solana Beach seniors. Through social programs, resource support, and community connections, SBCC helps older adults stay engaged, supported, and seen — especially those living alone or facing isolation.
