After nine years, the adored public art piece Pinion has been taken down. But nothing to worry about, the piece will safely return to its original location at the corner of N. Cedros Avenue and E. Cliff Street, after it has been cleaned and restored!

Since its arrival in 2013, the community's response to the Pinion has been overwhelmingly positive which led City Council to approve the purchase of the piece at the October 13, 2021 meeting. City Council has also directed Staff to design a new permanent base for the Pinion and aesthetic improvements to the area surrounding the art pad.

The sculptor, Jon Koehler, has generously offered to refurbish the 20-foot kinetic stainless steel sculpture back to its original condition and further enhance the piece with a more permanent protection.
