Waste & Recycling
EDCO Waste and Recycling Services is the only authorized company that can haul solid waste in the City of Solana Beach. Visit their website to start or stop service, view service schedules, or find out more about their residential and commercial recycling services. (EDCO Franchise Agreement)
Are you a resident looking to dispose of clean single-use plastic bags?
Single-use plastic bags should not be placed in the recycling cart because they are not recyclable and cause damage to EDCO’s materials sorting machines. Instead, you can collect clean plastic bags that have not been contaminated by food or other material, and drop them off at Solana Beach City Hall. Instead of going into the landfill, they are then compressed into bales and sent to be recycled into building materials.
Are you a business in Solana Beach that throws away retail plastic film material?
- There is now a recycling alternative! Plastic Beach
- Plastic Beach is a non-profit operating in the City. Visit their website to see if their program might be a good fit for your business.
