Climate Action Plan

The City first adopted a Climate Action Plan (CAP) in 2017. The CAP set ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from City activities by 50% below 2010 levels by 2035. Most recently in 2024, City Council adopted a CAP Update with updated GHG emission reductions targets, measures, and actions.

The Climate & Resiliency Commission, formerly referred to as the Climate Action Commission, was established in November of 2015. This Commission assists in implementing the Climate Action Plan, including updating the City's Greenhouse Emissions Inventory, setting reduction targets, implementing mitigation measures and performing periodic monitoring, verification and evaluations of current programs and projects.
