Clean Energy Incentives: Use It Or Lose It!

Did you know that electrification can reduce GHG emissions, improve your homes’ safety, and lower your energy bill long term?
To reduce the initial cost of home electrification upgrades, federal incentives have been available to participating residents, but they won’t last long. The Inflation Reduction Act provides the Federal Residential Clean Energy Credit for 30% of the cost of a qualifying heat pump for up to $2,000 upon installation and the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) for up to $8,000 upfront savings on heat pump installations. However, several of these incentives expire by the end of this year, or early 2026. If you are interested in electrifying, now is the time to take use of them!
Not sure if you should get a heat pump? The Climate & Resiliency Commission recommends this two question quiz by the New York Times.
