Understand Your Electricity Time of Use Rate Plan this Summer!

Are you enrolled in a Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plan for electricity? If so, your rate plan is structured based on both the amount of energy consumed and the timing of its usage because energy prices will vary per kilowatt-hour throughout the day. This means that pricing is more expensive during "on-peak" periods from 4 - 9 pm. As we move from Spring to Summer, TOU periods may change. Stay updated with the current hours based on pricing plans here.

Residents can reduce their energy bill by shifting electricity usage to "off-peak" and "super off-peak" periods. Setting a programmable thermostat, charging station, or a timed plug-in outlet can help you reduce your energy usage during "on-peak" times. This helps lower overall electricity costs and contributes to a cleaner energy grid sourced from reliable, renewable options.

Interested in making your energy usage even more sustainable? The Clean Energy Alliance (CEA), the default power provider of Solana Beach, offers customers a 100% renewable energy option called Green Impact. Opt up to Green Impact to ensure all your power comes from renewable sources.

Decrease your electricity bill this summer whilst being kinder to the planet!
