Enhance Your Home Energy Independence with Solar & Battery Incentives

Burning fossil fuels to generate electricity is one of the leading contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. In Solana Beach, electricity consumption is estimated to account for 19% of GHG emissions (2016 estimate). One way to reduce your carbon footprint through electricity usage at home is by installing a solar and battery storage system. Solar power and battery storage can additionally save money in the long-term by decreasing monthly utility bills, it can reduce your reliance on the electrical grid and provide backup power during an outage. All of this promotes energy resiliency in your home and community!
Unsure about the initial costs? The Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) just launched two new state-funded programs to help income-qualified customers install solar and battery systems. The Solar Plus Connect Program, in partnership with Participate. Energy, provides affordable solar panel and battery system installations for income-qualified households within CEA's service area. The Battery Bonus Connect Program, in partnership with Haven Energy, offers no-cost home battery installations for income-qualified households with existing solar systems, as well. Qualified customers include those enrolled in the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program, Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) program, or households with income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Funding is limited, so make sure to apply early to take use of this opportunity!
