New City Website Domain Coming Soon!

Date: Dec 17 , 2025

We’re excited to share that the City of Solana Beach will soon be moving to an official .ca.gov domain, the trusted, secure home for California government services. This update will strengthen online security, improve accessibility, and align Solana Beach with statewide digital standards.

Over the coming weeks, and no later than early January 2026, our website will officially transition to: cityofsolanabeach.ca.gov

Don’t worry! You won’t need to change anything right away. All your existing bookmarks and saved links will continue working and will automatically redirect to the new domain. After the change occurs, we encourage you to save the new URL as a fresh start for the new year!

Why the Change?

This move is part of a statewide modernization effort requiring cities to adopt verified “.ca.gov” domains. It’s a meaningful upgrade for security, authenticity, and trust. It also arrives at the perfect time: Solana Beach turns 40 next year!

Think of this as part birthday glow-up, part New Year’s makeover, and part digital house-cleaning — all wrapped up as a gift to our community.

What About Email?

City staff will also transition to new @cityofsolanabeach.ca.gov email addresses as part of this upgrade. However, if you send an email to someone at the older @cosb.org address, it will still reach them — no extra steps needed.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • When you visit the City’s website, you’ll see cityofsolanabeach.ca.gov appear in your browser.
  • Old links will redirect automatically.
  • All online forms, services, and documents will remain fully accessible.
  • When convenient, you can update your bookmarks to the new address — consider it a little “New Year, New URL” cleanup tradition!

We look forward to sharing this enhanced and more secure online experience with you. Thank you for being part of the Solana Beach community!
