New Bench at El Viento Pocket Park
Check out the new bench just added to El Viento Pocket Park! This bench was placed next to one of Solana Beach’s beloved public art pieces, Fleur de Lumiére by Deanne Sabeck.
The City received the bench as a part of the NexTrex plastic bag recycling program. With this program, thin film plastic bags are recycled to create decking materials for outdoor products, including the bench that was added to the park! Learn more about NexTrex recycling here.
Single-use plastic bags that are otherwise tossed in the trash can be dropped off and recycled at City Hall instead. You can find the bin at the back of City Hall by the bathrooms, directly past the fire-doors on the left-hand side of the building.
Next time you’re in the area, take a moment to sit at the bench and enjoy the beautiful piece of public art within the native garden planted by the SeaWeeders!
