Explore the City's New Tree Canopy Inventory Map

The City of Solana Beach has partnered with i-Tree Eco to create a Tree Inventory for everyone to learn about the Solana Beach’s tree canopy! Trees are not only beautiful, but they also play a crucial role in the health of the environment and well-being of the community. On this site, you can learn about the total number of trees and species in the City, as well as their estimated value through these environmental and community benefits. Even more, viewers can access informational dashboards and maps to interact with and investigate specific benefits and assess areas of high or low tree density.  

This analysis of the City’s tree canopy is one of the many steps that the City plans to take as a part of their commitment to increase the City’s urban tree canopy in support of the City’s Climate Action Plan includes Pathway 3.3.4 ‘Enhance Land Use & Natural Solutions’, which aims to increase Solana Beach’s urban tree canopy and to plant vegetation that is best fit for the environment. Assessing the tree canopy base line is a pivotal step towards future action in support of the CAP.
