Junior Lifeguards
The Junior Lifeguard Program is a comprehensive training program for youths from 9 to 17 years of age. The program is designed to develop and build self esteem, lifesaving and emergency skills.  It also develops techniques, physical fitness, respect and appreciation of the ocean environment.  The program teaches general water safety through a variety of techniques including games, competitions, lectures, surfing, body-boarding, swimming, and skin-diving.  There are appearances by special guests, and opportunities to train with lifeguard emergency equipment.

The Junior Lifeguard Administrative Office is located at the Solana Beach Marine Safety Headquarters at Fletcher Cove. The Junior Lifeguard training area is located at Seascape Surf.

Information and applications for the Junior Lifeguard Program may be obtained by contacting The Marine Safety Department at 858-720-4444.
